A little paradise in Uithuizermeeden
On April 5, 2023 we – Renate, our dog Totilas and I, Claus – ended up in a little paradise for seven days together with our friends Odin and Susi. A small, cute and, above all, lovingly maintained, clean campsite in Uithuizermeeden, in the province of Groningen, in the Netherlands. For the three of us – Renate, Totilas and Claus – it is only the fifth campsite in our short camper career and we are very enthusiastic. But our friends, Odin and Susi, who have been camping for over 40 years, also find the place, I quote, “very nice”. The place is “very nice” because it fulfills the above attributes, but also has a few small downsides. For example, in our opinion, the space with three showers and three toilets at prime time is far too small.
Another first
And this campsite also had a premiere in store for us. Our new awning, an Isabella Ambassador, is used for the first time. Yes, Renate and I are still married the next day. Our marriage also survived this awning construction. The construction went quickly. As reported, we had practiced with our neighbor Thomas and marked all the tent poles in color so that the ends were quickly put together.
We liked that!
Camping Lentemaheerd is characterized by several positive factors:

The washhouse is always neat and tidy, but unfortunately not heated.

The site consists of two larger meadows, on which a total of 25 parking spaces with fresh water, electricity and waste water connections are set up on the parking space.

In addition to ordering rolls, the on-site app allows you to explore the area quickly and easily.

The cycle paths are perfectly developed for numerous excursions by bike and dog.

The campsite’s own farm dog Pepper greets every single four-legged friend and encourages him to play, which is perfect for Totilas. During our stay none of the guests were bothered by the frolicking dogs. Without exception, all fellow campers had their dogs with them.
